This is going to depend on your requirements. If you only require 2D drawings, you won't need to look beyond AutoCAD and for CAM, you can use a feature based program such as ArtCAM or MeshCAM. PyCAM is also an option but I didn't like the features very much so I would suggest going with one of the other two. read more
