The aether was wrongly relegated to the physics bust bin and is now called Dark Energy. Same phenomenon with a different name. Relative to the Universe, the Aether has an infinite extension. read more

An ether is an all-pervasive form of energy. In fact there are many types of ethers in the Universe and dark energy is just one of them. The cosmic microwave background radiation is one form and dark matter is another form.
