Can I digg up moss from my backyard for terrarium use?

I digged some moss from yard to my geometric terrarium and it grows well. It has been 3 weeks. I will add some photos later. The most important thing is, I suggest, measure the container size and carefully move the moss. It is really hard to clear the moss.
