Can neurosurgeons read MRIs as well as radiologists?

Best Answers

Neurosurgeons are only interested in neurons. So if they were going to be as good as radiologists at reading MRIs- it would have to be MRIs of these areas only. Neurosurgeons have to be really good at doing operations. Radiologists only have to be really good at doing radiology; MRI and CT are vital to neurosurgical diagnosis and management. read more

That really depends. Some probably can't "read" MRI's as well as radiologist and some can do it much better than radiologist. Many MRI technicians work in the experimental field and are responsible for a lot of the new and improved techniques of analyzing MRI data. read more
