Non-Catholics can attend the various religious services, talks, etc. that are held at the Vatican (and pretty much any church in the world that they wish to see), too. The only restriction that is particular to non-Catholics is that, if they attend a Mass, they are asked to refrain from receiving communion. read more

Vatican City is certainly open to visit for tourists at large; as you perhaps know, there is no actual boundary between Rome and Vatican City, meaning that nobody checks the papers of those who move from one to the other. read more
