Women who smoke during pregnancy are more likely to have children with high-functioning autism, a new study suggests. "It has long been known that autism is an umbrella term for a wide range of disorders that impair social and communication skills," lead researcher Professor Amy Kalkbrenner from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Joseph J. Most of what's out there seems to argue that there's at least a mild link between high-functioning Autism and smoking, but when you look at some of the studies even that "mild link" looks pretty questionable.
