Fellow Sunni Iraqi here. My dad is Shia and my mom is Sunni. Firstly, all Muslims are the same. Believe in God, the Holy message in the Holy Quran, and that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was God's final messenger. Theoretically, no, you cannot be both. Both have different views on various subjects.
