Can stuck valves always be repaired in a French horn?

Best Answers

Always? No. Usually? Yes. The tricky thing with stuck valves, whether pistons or rotors, is that there are SO many things that could be causing them to be stuck. PLEASE, ignore the answer from a few years ago telling you to decide whether you want to fix it yourself or take it somewhere. read more

Case #3: Your stuck valve is damaged beyond repair. Nobody can fix it. Don't assume that this is the case until an experienced repairman sees it, but if the repair costs go past a certain point, it is probably worth it to get a totally new horn. read more

Pull out the front 1st valve slide, put a few squirts of rotor oil into the piece you just pulled out. Keeping the slide piece facing up (so you don't spill the oil in the slide) insert it back into the horn. read more
