No. “Accuracy” is about how close the stated thing is to reality. “Veracity” is about whether the stated thing matches reality. The accuracy of a measurement is an important factor in just about all scientific research. read more
While veracity and accuracy may be sometimes synonyms, I wouldn't describe the results of a scientific instrument's (hardware) measurements, or of a pathology test (biochemical), or of an IQ test (software), or of a political preference poll (software) as honest (which is what veracity implies, but as accurate and trustworthy in the sense that it usually doesn't give false-positives or false-negatives. read more
