Yes you can and not more than 6–7 fishes in the tank. Tiger barbs are little aggressive in nature so better keep same sized fish if you want to have other tank mates. You can balance their aggression by adding in even numbers of male or female in ratio. read more

Also, tiger barbs are not compatible tank mates with most community tropical fish. In a small 20 gallon, you won't be able to house any other fish except **maybe** 3-5 dwarf corydora.
