With that customization, I can now charge my LEAF from any 240V outlet, for example, a clothes dryer outlet, or a 240V outlet at an RV park. You will need a couple of adapters. I have two adapters from this page: Other Adapters. read more

Probably. The Leaf will charge at either 120V or 240V at a range of currents from, I think, 6A to 30A. The EVSE that comes it with gives 12A at 120V with a “normal” 15A plug. I believe the Volt is the same - the user handbook says it needs 12A. Certainly you can use any 30A 240V EVSE to charge either vehicle using the common J1772 connector. read more

Now, with the 14-50 receptacle, you can plug in either the LEAF or the Model X (with its UMC supplied with the car with 14-50 plug). Plus, you can mount a Tesla HPWC 80 amp charge station (about $2500) or Clipper Creek CS-100 J1772 (charge Model X through J1772 adaptor, which comes with car) by simply replacing the 50 amp breaker for a with a 100 amp one, and hard wiring the new charge station. read more
