Sure. Tornado's are low altitude events. However, they usually come out of severe thunderstorms that usually grow to 40–50,000′ feet. So the chances of my flying over that thunderstorm with a tornado in it is minimal. read more

Believe it or not you actually can. if you have ever flown in a plane before you fly way over the clouds, most clouds are only a couple thousand feet in the air (usually), therefore you can easily fly over tornados. read more
