With 4 episodes under your belt, I would be surprised if you have not gone chronic yet. You titled this Severe Pancreatitis. It usually doesn't get to that stage without you being Chronic. Depends: You had gall stone pancreatitis, most likely due to small stones, good gall bladder was removed. If you are free of retained stones in the biliary ducts unlikely to get another attach of pancreatitis. Pancreatitis is inflammation and/or infection of the pancreas. As long as you have a pancreas, you can develop pancreatitis, regardless of whether you have a gallbladder. However, without a gallbladder, you can't get gall stones or cholecystitis. read more
