You could—but it isn’t. Earth’s biosphere is somewhat like a living thing in that it’s a complicated system than maintains homeostasis, but as a unit, it isn’t alive, doesn’t repair itself, and doesn’t make babies. The fact is, we need the Earth more than is needs us. read more
