As you see by the other answers no. Gasoline does not burn or ignite, it is the vapors (or gas) that it emits that ignite. You need the right mixture at the flashpoint for ignition. read more

heck, pour some gas on the ground and flick a cigarette at it, it usually won't start on fire. Gas isn't nearly as easy to start on fire as people think. This is one of the reasons we put it in cars. If it was super easy to get gas to burn we'd blow ourselves up every time there is a minor car accident. read more
