DDR4 isn't bacwards compatible with DDR3. In other words, you can't use the newer DDR4 memory in an older DDR3 memory slot. If you are only wanting to upgrade the RAM, you can put another stick or a larger stick of RAM to slightly increase the performance of the computer. read more

DDR4 memories have far different design from DDR3. DDR4 have 288 pins architecture and that of DDR3 have 240 pin. Also the small nab in the slot that seperate the pins in two pieces and it helps that we are installing it in right way(I hope you will understand) is in different place. read more
