Can you worm a cat who is nursing?

Best Answers

Kittens should be wormed at two, four, six, eight and 12 weeks of age, then every three months for life with an all-wormer. Pregnant and nursing cats should also be treated during mating, before giving birth to a litter and then every three months.Apr 24, 2015 read more

Yes you can, and should, worm a nursing cat. Use a dewormer with the active ingredient of pyrantel pamoate. Begin deworming the kittens at 2 weeks old and repeat every 2 weeks until weaned. read more

You should have a stool sample checked by your vet first to see what type(s) of worms your cat may have. She may need another drug depending on what type(s) are in there, and your vet will know others that are OK to use in nursing animals. read more
