Community is a huge part of being a practicing Catholic. If you don't mesh well with the members of a parish or their pastor, it can make going to mass a weekly cross to bear. Someone told me once that if being hurt by the people of the Church causes you to lose faith in God, then your faith was in people and not God. read more

You can attend any Catholic service any time. I (Hugh) went to a Catholic Church for seven years before becoming Catholic (yeah, I know, it's a guy thing, fear of commitment). The only thing is please don't take communion until you are in communion. read more
