Well it directly wouldn't have any affect on your goal to become an astronaut. But there is more to it. If you want to be an astronaut, you need to be in tip top condition. If you aren't perfect in every way (physically, mentally, academically and socially) you will possibly be placed out of the selection criteria. read more

Update: I don't understand why they'll allow people who were smokers but not allow (or make it harder on) people with food allergies. Smoking is seriously damaging, plus time spent in space heightens the risk of cancer.. nuts can easily be avoided, they aren't ever necessary. read more
