It's possible that breathing oxygen at low pressure would be better than trying to breathe vacuum, and keep you alive a little bit longer than the 90 seconds or so without, but scuba tanks usually have air and I'm not sure the demand regulator would work in vacuum. read more

You cannot reduce the pressure in your lungs below that of a vacumn, so you cannot draw a breath off a SCUBA regulator in space. You might be able to reach up and press the purge button and get some air, depending on the make and model. read more
