The St.Louis Arch didn’t open until 1965. Lindbergh was in his 60s by this time. The Lindberghs moved to Europe and avoided the public spotlight after the murder of their son in the 1930s. read more
According to the St. Louis Post Dispatch Gateway Arch timeline, a twin engine plane flew through the arch on June 21, 1966, about 3 months after its completion. The pilot was not caught. Other small planes flew through later that year. read more

Despite the FAA having added a few rules banning flying below 1000ft in any urban area, more than a few folks HAVE flown small aircraft under the arch. read more
