After spending their meagre wages on wine, women, song, and women, they would be off to their next ship. My guess is that most pirates, except perhaps the captains, did not have permanent homes. Modern day pirates, however, have homes, often very modest (unless they have a big score). read more

Depends on the ship; merchant ships which the pirates feed off have lots of internal space for carrying cargo and very few crew. Warships which the pirates steer clear of have little cargo space (just supplies for the ship and crew) but lots of bodies to house. read more
