I don't 'act feminine', and nor do any of my gay friends. As Erica Friedman says, this is a stereotype - and, like most stereotypes, it's largely inaccurate. There are, of course, some gay men who are 'camp', but to suggest that all gay men are therefore effeminate is no more logically consistent than it would be to claim that because some heterosexual men are misogynist dullards, all of them must be. read more
