Nope, unless you're American it's pretty unlikely that you'd use the term 'high school' over here. High school isn't a synonym for secondary school because it's part of a three-tiered education system, rather than the two-tiered UK system. read more

Best Answer: There's actually two different systems within the British state school system. The UK school year runs from September 1 - August 31 (so a child born on August 31 would enter the school system a year before a child born on September 1, even though they are just a day older). read more
