Most of the time, deaf people's eardrums are in tact. There are other reasons for deafness. Really loud music does affect deaf people. My siblings find themselves more sensitive to vibrations when they're not wearing cochlear implants. My brother can pick up on vibrations I can't even feel. read more

There are many profoundly deaf people out there that get headaches from having hearing aids that are not exactly set up for them. You may not hear certain frequencies, but your inner ear is picking up the extra vibrations. And, yes, reading lips gave me headaches. read more
