Do doctors and nurses typically receive annual bonuses?

Depends entirely on where you work. When I was a resident, everybody who worked at the hospital got a turkey at Thanksgiving. You stood in line, showed your ID and brought home a turkey. Nice. I never did. We used to get a $25 gift card usable at a local grocery store at Christmas but they stopped that, presumably because it cut into the administration’s bonuses. I can’t speak for doctors. I was a hospital staff nurse. read more
