My experience is that it depends. It depends on the dog, the dog's mood, who the other dog is, if the dogs have a familiarity, how old the dog is and how long you may have had the dog. But sometimes they do put themselves between you and the other dog. It is a fine line when anthropomorphizing animal behavior but it appears similar to human jealousy. read more
