They do not sound like gunfire but can be just as loud. Gunfire has a distinct sound of the projectile breaking the sound barrier, almost a crack. Gunshots can be from 140–200db depending on the gun. Fireworks can be as loud as 175db. In fireworks the projectile does not break the sound barrier so you do not hear the crack that a gunshot makes. read more
