Do lizards have good eye sight?

Best Answers

Lizards have typical vertebrate eyes -- the pupil allows light to pass through a lens, which focuses the light on the back of the retina, where the light stimulates photoreceptive cells. The photoreceptive cells change the light impulse into an electrical impulse that is transmitted to, and interpreted by, the brain. read more

They do have a yellow filter which, filling the lens, absorbs ultraviolet light, protecting the eye. Snakes use a combination of infrared vision (developed in the trigeminal nerve), variable (by species) visual acuity and color detection, limited eye mobility, and chemosensation to find prey and recognize features in their environment (including their keepers). read more
