Maples are crazy. There is the Striped Maple, the Mountain Maple, the Sugar Maple, the Silver Maple. All have their own habitat. But... Silver Maple can be found near water, but the ubiquitous one is Red Maple. I have seen RM growing on an island in the middle of a lake. read more
