I think so. In 2002, my husband,and I went to Tenochitlan (modernly, Mexico City). While there, we visited Teotihuacan and climbed the Pyramid of the Sun (what can I say — it was there). Of course. There are Native peoples in Mexico who still worship some of the Aztec gods, though they may have been syncretized to Catholic saints. The Virgin of Guadelupe, for example, "appeared" on a mound sacred to the Aztec goddess Tonantzin. read more

Huitzilopochtli - A special temple on the Main Pyramid was created for this Aztec sun god. Many sacrifices took place here and the heads of the victims were placed on a rack.
