Nurses work in set shifts of eight hours for five days in a week or 12 hours in four days in a week while doctors are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It’s all about the intimacy level. Being a doctor requires much more knowledge than being a nurse does but that does not mean that nurses are not equally as smart (i.e. critical thinking), if all you think nurses do is start IV's, draw blood, and clean patients up after they have been incontinent you are poorly mistaken. read more
