The truth is, children with Down syndrome can have normal IQ. All kids with Down syndrome are unique and we can not make sweeping generalizations (as all children are unique). Apparently 2% of people who have Down Syndrome have a version of it called "Mosaic Down Syndrome" where they still have the physical appearance of a person who has Down Syndrome, but they on average have I.Q.'s that are 20-30 points higher than the average non-mosaic Down Syndrome person. read more
