Shearing the sheep is something mandatory we have to do to care for our animals just like deworming, hoof care, vaccinations, etc. Selling the wool pays some of the costs of the shearing but it's definitely a cost (at least for us in Europe; maybe there are sheep bred for wool somewhere else). read more
