Do small freshwater aquarium shrimp feed on mosquito larvae?

They don't really eat mosquito larvae. Small freshwater shrimp like ghost shrimp (so popular pet stores are usually sold out) spend most of their time eating detritus and filtering microscopic organisms out of the water to eat at the bottom of the tank/body of water. read more

I have a 10 gallon freshwater tank. Today I discovered these small whitish color larvae in my tank. They resemble mosquito larvae but aren't the typical brownish red color I'm used to seeing. They are thriving in my gravel and if they get anywhere near the top of the gravel or open water my zebra Danios will eat them. read more
