The Knights Templar were a powerful force centuries earlier but they do not exist today, at least there would be no legitimate direct tie to the Knights Templar by any modern organization. The Templars were an organization within the Catholic Church which disbanded the Templars in early 14th century. read more

When the Knights Templar disbanded after the French attack the order dissipated around the globe, some to Scotland (Freemasonry), some to Malta (Knights of Malta) some potentially to the Hospitallers and some to Portugal (Knights of Christ).
