Most trees do not drop their leaves at any time during the year, they remain green and full of foliage all 4 seasons. The climate is too warm and sunny even in winter. Plants usually detect seasons by the length of daylight available rather than temperature. read more

In tropical climates, like Hawaii, the types of trees they have there evolved to not experience cold weather to the point where they need to shed leaves in winter. There is also not much difference in daylight hours vetween summer and winter in the tropics. read more
