It is very common for dogs and cats to be spayed (have their ovaries and uterus removed) while pregnant, especially in areas with a huge number of intact, stray animals. We are preventing an increase in the population as well as further breeding by that animal. read more
Otherwise, vets will gladly perform a spay surgery and abort the puppies or kittens that way. But there is no good medical way to abort if it's too late to give a mismating shot, and no vet would do a C-section to terminate the litter and leave the pet intact. read more
Another cat was having kittens in another family's attic twice a year. Sometimes the animal was already pregnant and we'd abort the litter. We'd fix these non owned animals and they'd take and release them again. We did charge a bit more for the abortion though, since it was more involved. read more
