In the US? Yes. Wayyyyyy too much. Individually, one civilian to a veteran it's not bad. Even then it's your choice to do so. Whether that is born out of true intentions or societal pressure is up to you. read more

I feel that we praise too much, while meaning or delivering too little; in this way, thanking a vet for their service rings hollow. Veterans come from a world of action; to express gratitude we try to see what we can do to help our fellow service members. read more

I am sorry if I am offending anyone, especially veterans and their families, but i don't believe that soldiers deserve so much praise and respect for what they do. They are basically doing mercenary work, with a nationalistic motivation. read more
