Actually China is doing a great deal about their pollution. When I visited Chongqing in 2001 (China's largest municipality) it was the most polluted city in China, the sky was always grey and you could never see the sun. Now, the sky is blue, the sun bright and Chongqing is not even on the list of China's most polluted cities. read more
China has some stunningly beautiful natural landscapes, but they may not count for much when, in other parts of the country, pollution runs totally unchecked. read more
