Do you like playing paintball or airsoft more?

Airsoft is currently more Milsim than paintball. In pain, a cheap walmart paintball gun will hurt more than a cheap walmart airsoft gun. If you get a good airsoft gun, high powered, the bb's can lightly penatrate the skin. Depending on where a paintball hits you, it can tear the skin (tight skin like the knuckles). read more

In paintball participants try to hit each other with paintballs launched from a special paintball marker/gun. While airsoft is cheaper and provides a more realistic warfare experience, paintball is more popular, more organized and has larger events. read more

Since the weapons worked more like real ones, you had to employ far more careful and thoughtful tactics than you did with Paintball. The Airsoft community also started much smaller than the Paintball one, with most players coming to the hobby already knowing about Airsoft from Japanese toy and hobby culture, having played it in Asia, or they were simply looking for a more relaxed, thoughtful community. read more
