Do you really need a gaming computer to play PC games?

Not at all. Older games, casual games and a lot of more lightweight indie games will work just fine on any modern hardware (or a lot of older hardware, for that matter). “Gaming PCs” only really come into for more demanding titles - modern AAA stuff, indie games with higher-end 3D graphics, that sort of thing. read more

A new gaming computer is only required to play PC games with the newest stellar graphics. For older PC games, and most of the indie games (even the ones which are recently released, innovative, and have great gameplay), a standard or older computer is sufficient. read more

The people who really only need those high refresh rate monitors are people who do a ton of competitive gaming and get more enjoyment from getting kills than actually looking at a good picture. As I said there are ips displays which work at high refresh rates. read more
