Oh no, not at all. To me they’re majestic, with their long hair and their distinctive lynx-like ears. All Maine Coons are beautiful, but I am partial to mackerel tabbies, and I think the orange classic tabby is the most beautiful of all. read more

A friend of mine has one. Maine Coons are some of the most huggable ones, based on my limited experience with that cat. He is mellow, huge, and loves to be petted. The only problem is that, when he leaves your lap, all the evidence is there, you cannot deny and claim so much hair that can fill a small pillow is there coincidentally. read more

As the others have said, it is difficult to say about them being maine Coons. It seems to me some cats may look like Maine Coons and have their traits, just by natural selection, or whatever. My big orange guy, Taz is a case in point. read more
