MIddle school relationships can be bad or can be good. For example my first realtionship was horriable. we didn't talk in person, and we only texted and hugged like 3 times. I believe your advice is solid if what you mean is traditional dating. This is especially true given that middle school boys are now watching porn from the time they are 11 or 12.
