I assume you mean in the American sense of pledging allegiance to the flag every morning at school? In which case, the short answer is no, Australia has no equivalent. I think the main reason why not is - it just never seemed necessary. read more

As a general rule, most countries find the US Pledge of Allegiance at best silly, and at worst a little creepy. In Australia in particular, this level of nationalism is considered suspicious - you're not supposed to get so passionate about anything that isn't footy. read more
