For most religions, it seems to me that their putative god does not love animals in any meaningful way. The vast majority of religions permit and / or condone animal slaughter, some even mandate particularly cruel slaughterhouse practices. With Judaism, Christianity and Islam, I don’t think they attribute any kind of “soul” to animals. read more
