Contrary to what most people in the rest of the United States think, there aren't 6 months of darkness in Alaska. Even in the farthest northern part of Alaska do they see 6 months of darkness. read more

But the long and the short of it is that whether you are at the North Pole or the South Pole or at the equator, over a year’s time you will receive the same amount day and night.
