As Ma_Mansi said, it does snow in the Saint Catherine area around end of December, nothing to ski on but you get a few patches of white snow on the mountain peaks. Mount Catherine is the highest point in Egypt it stands at an altitude of 2629 m above sea level (This explains the lower temp usually 18 degrees less than at sea level). read more
