Doping will not turn a donkey into a thoroughbred race horse. Considering pretty much all of the tour winners from the first tour through to 2011, (bar Lemond and Indurain) have at one stage or another 'doped' or tested positive, I find the treatment of Armstrong, although somewhat deserved, hypocritical. The whole point of forgiveness is that it does not depend upon whether the person being forgiven"deserves" it. I spent twelve years of my life working on business relating to Lance Armstrong. I was a true believer. read more

It seems those closest to the action, those in cycling or personally affected by Lance are less convinced. They seem to be the ones, along with Lance, who really matter when we talk about his forgiveness. read more

Lance Armstrong does not understand where personal responsibility, and avoidance of legal jeopardy diverge. He does not have an inkling of what an apology is, how it is constructed, how it is delivered, to whom it is delivered, and cetrainly not why it is delivered. read more
