Mac OS X does require more minimum RAM (2GB or higher memory) compared to Snow Leopard. Also, you must have a 64-bit CPU (Core2Duo and above) in order to use Lion. Because of the higher CPU & RAM requirements, one could deduce that Lion uses more resources to run. read more
